The Historical Society of Perry County releases the following resolution, adopted unanimously at its last regular Board of Directors meeting, regarding the potential closure of Blain Elementary School in the West Perry School District:
“Whereas Blain Elementary is an architecturally and historically-significant structure and has served and continues to serve an important role as an institution of grammar and secondary learning, the Board of Directors of the Historical Society of Perry County strongly recommends that the West Perry School Board place a moratorium on any decisions that may threaten or adversely impact the historic and architectural fabric and integrity of Blain School as the last fully-functional operational schoolhouse for combined education in Perry County.
Voted and unanimously agreed to by the Board of Directors of the Historical Society of Perry County, penitus disputatum, 27 July 2026.”
