The Historical Society of Perry County was pleased to welcome members of the Perry Valley Grange for a recent visit to the Cochran-Anspach House in Millerstown. Built in 1821, this historic gem is a centerpiece of the Society’s preservation efforts, showcasing beautiful Victorian-era décor and a collection of local Millerstown and Perry County memorabilia.

The Grange has long been a generous supporter of the Cochran-Anspach House, donating both time and funding over the years to help with its restoration. The Perry Valley Grange has been a valued partner in the restoration and upkeep of the Cochran-Anspach House. Over the years, the Grange has donated funds to support the restoration of the upstairs rooms, contributed toward the cost of exterior painting, and volunteered their time to help prepare meals for our annual Valentine’s Dinner fundraiser held at the house. Their generosity and commitment have played a key role in preserving this historic property for the community to enjoy. Their visit was a wonderful reminder of the strong partnership between our organizations and the shared commitment to preserving Perry County’s history.

During the visit, Grange members held a brief informal meeting, enjoyed refreshments, and were given a guided tour of the home by Nathan Lesh, who serves as both a Board Director for the Historical Society and a member of the Perry Valley Grange. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd.

Events like this underscore the importance of community partnerships in our mission to preserve, celebrate, and share the rich heritage of Perry County. We’re grateful for the Perry Valley Grange’s continued support and look forward to future collaborations!
