From the desk of the Historical Society of Perry County President:
As we near the close of a very active and successful 2024, I’d like to take a moment to recognize the Officers, Board of Directors (Jason Wilson, Bobbi S Armolt, Chris Shatto, Aaron Morrison, Carl Tressler, Mike Smith, Dan Rice, Jill Seaman, Nathan Lesh, Marguirette Colledge, Gary Eby, Darin Lesh, David Keller) and volunteers for the Historical Society. During the course of a calendar year, they collectively donate thousands of hours of their time, their gas, their vehicles, their talents and oftentimes their own funds to plan, organize, staff, and run events at our properties.
Whether it’s Blue Ball tavern or the PC Fair, opening properties for special tours and open houses, meeting contractors, planning the Valentine’s dinner or annual meeting, decorating properties for Christmas, running book sales or numerous other events, our Board and members are extremely generous with their time. This spirit of volunteerism is especially noteworthy during this busy holiday season, where last night we had an amazing turnout of 130 people at the Fairview Church candlelight service, as well as volunteers at Blue Ball tavern (open all week) for Light Up Little Buffalo.
So if you know someone on the Board, or an active volunteer in the Society, please join me in thanking them for all they do throughout the year to contribute to the Society’s mission of preserving Perry County history.
Happy holidays to all!
Jason Wilson, President
